UCR will award five students a $1,500 fellowship to develop a sustainability project which will contribute to a reduction of greenhouse gases or educate the campus community about carbon neutrality.

The deadline for the application is Feb. 13 with the winners being announced one week after. Both graduate and undergraduate students are eligible to receive the award.

The application will look at the applicants’ project idea in a one-page outline which will include a brief description of the project, including its goals and cost. Judgment criteria will be based on the innovation of the project and the applicants’ GPA.

The fellowship is part of the UC carbon neutrality initiative, which aims to emit zero greenhouse gases from its campus buildings and vehicles by 2025.
