The UC Riverside women’s tennis team brought an end to a rather underwhelming season this past Wednesday, April 27 as they fell, 4-0, to No. 8 Cal Poly in the first round of the Big West Conference Championships. The proverbial writing on the wall was highly apparent from the outset as UCR fell in three, noncompetitive doubles matches early, before dropping three straight individual matches.

The most competitive player of the day was junior Caroline Hall, who tested singles opponent Abby Bacharach in the two sets before falling short, 6-4 and 6-3.
The Highlanders have now gone winless in conference play for seven consecutive seasons and end their season at 3-15 overall on the year, a win mark which falls just short of their 4-18 record in 2014-15.
