On March 4, 32-year-old Timothy Carroll and 49-year-old Jamie Estevez were arrested for murder following their alleged involvement in a fatal shooting in downtown Riverside nearly a month prior.

On Feb. 6, just after 5 am, Riverside police officers responded to a shooting at a business near Main and 14th. They found the victim, 28-year-old Nile Blackston Jefferson, suffering from gunshot wounds, before he was pronounced dead on the scene. Carroll allegedly lured Jefferson into the area before shooting him and fled before law enforcement arrived. Estevez has also been accused of aiding in the murder, although further details on her involvement have not yet been disclosed.

Investigators have stated that both Carroll and Jefferson were transient individuals residing in the area, although their relationship was not specified. Estevez and Carroll remain in custody. Estevez is being held on $1 million bail, and Carroll without bail.
