Two separate medical emergencies, occurring within the same hour, spurred the appearance of a firetruck on campus last Friday, according to UCR officials.

A female student reported an allergic reaction to something she ate and was transported to Kaiser Permanente Hospital. In the second case, a student located near Lot 19 reported a dislocated shoulder after injuring themselves while riding a scooter and was sent to Riverside Community Hospital.

Explaining the campus sightings of the firetruck, UCR Director of Media Relations Kris Lovekin said that sometimes large fire units travel to medical aid calls.
