This week’s editorial took a look at the recent incidents of sexual assault near UCR’s campus and saw them as a springboard to have stronger and more serious discussions about preventing sexual assault and harassment. Myles, Evan, Jaspery and Andreas discuss the increasing prevalence of these incidents and what actions can be taken and programs implemented to help prevent such from happening in the future. Also, what can be done to fix the overall culture that allows for such?

Then, with this episode marking the final Highlander Newsroom episode of the 2016-17 academic year, the group reflects on what has been an eventful year on UCR’s campus. How will you remember it? Your highlights? Low-lights? Hear their responses to that and more below:
We could not end the year without expressing gratitude to all you regular consumers of The Highlander, Highlander Newsroom and our various other content. Thank you for your support of student journalism and your engagement with us and the broader UC Riverside community. It’s been fun and we’re already looking forward to next year. In the meantime, keep on keeping real news alive!
