Robbery at Stonehaven apartments

On the evening of Sunday, May 19, at about 10:50 p.m., a robbery occurred at the Stonehaven apartments on Canyon Crest Drive and Blaine Street. The victim was passed by two male suspects, grabbed from behind and shoved to the ground between the G and H buildings of the apartment complex. One of the suspects threatened the victim with a silver revolver and confiscated his backpack, laptop, textbooks and other belongings. The suspects ran north through Stonehaven and evaded UC Police Department (UCPD) and the Riverside Police Department (RPD). The victim received minor scratches on his neck from the incident.

The victim described the two suspects as African American males in their early 20s, standing between six feet and six-foot-two and 180 pounds. The suspect who was holding the gun was wearing a grey sweatshirt, white t-shirt, baggy blue jeans and a dark bandana around his neck. Suspect number two was wearing a black sweatshirt, baggy blue jeans, with either cornrows or dreadlocks. This incident is under investigation by UCPD.

Suspect in cell phone robbery arrested

At approximately 11:40 a.m. on Friday, May 17, a female resident of the Summer Meadows apartments on Rustin Avenue was approached by another woman who demanded the victim give up her cell phone. When the victim refused, she was then punched by the suspect. After a struggle broke out between the two parties, the victim was robbed of her cell phone. The suspect ran into a black Mercedes with chrome sport rims with a female accomplice.

On the following Saturday, the two suspects were found by UCPD around the Riverside Sports Complex and Rustin Avenue. The officer stopped the vehicle and arrested both suspects, who were booked at the Riverside County Jail on robbery charges.

Robbery near Canyon Crest Dr. and Prescott Way

At approximately 1:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, two male suspects robbed a man at the Boulder Apartment complex near Canyon Crest Drive and Prescott Way. One of the two suspects had a handgun and demanded the victim give the suspects his property. The victim’s cell phone, wallet and other belongings were stolen. This incident is currently under investigation by the RPD. The two suspects were described as thin African American males in their early 20s, standing between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall. Both suspects were described as wearing baseball caps and hooded sweatshirts.
