On Sunday, April 19, Ontario police officers shot and killed a man involved in a domestic dispute after he fired upon them with an assault weapon.
Around 8:52 a.m., police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a domestic disturbance on the 1800 block of East Granada Court along with the threat of an armed man inside the house. Officers spoke to several family members outside who said there were still people — including the armed man — inside. The suspect then exited the residence carrying a rifle and opened fire on officers. Officers returned fire and shot him, upon which he was taken to a hospital and died from his wounds.
Officers recovered an assault rifle and several casings on the scene. No officers were hurt, and there is no ongoing danger to the community. The identity of the suspect has not yet been released. The case is ongoing, and anyone with relevant information should contact the Ontario Police Department at (909) 986-6711, or Detective Sadeghain at (909) 408-1827.
