On Friday, May 1, 2026, the Associated Students of the University of California, Riverside (ASUCR) announced the results of the 2026-2027 academic year campus elections. Of the 22,063 students attending UCR, 4,890 students turned out to vote in this election, resulting in a 22.16 percent voter turnout.
This year, the 20% voter turnout minimum was met during the election. This allowed for the Highlander Abroad Referendum Fee to pass with 2,409 votes and the R’Garden Food Security and Sustainability Referendum passing with 3,268.
No students applied to run for Personnel Director, Transfer Student Director, Non-Traditional Student Director, First-Time College Student Director. There will also be a special election to fill in the School of Public Policy Senator and two CHASS Senators positions.
When calculating polling percentages, ASUCR abides by Robert’s Rules of Order which dictates that abstentions are not counted in percentage calculations of votes. Only the votes cast, in favor or against, will determine the outcome.
